Scott Shapin, PGA



Scott Shapin grew up in Rockville, Maryland and moved to Tucson in the Fall of 2009. He is a Class A PGA Assistant Professional at Tucson Country Club. He graduated from Penn State's Professional Golf Management Program in 2005 and received his PGA membership in 2006. In 2010 he received both his SNAG Golf Certification and the Titleist Performance Institute's golf fitness certification. 

Scott has worked at several prestigious clubs during his career, including Plainfield Country Club in Plainfield, NJ, McArthur Golf Club in Hobe Sound, FL, and Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, MD. While at Columbia Scott served as the clubs First Assistant and was heavily involved in The First Tee program of Washington DC which has introduced over 1000 children to the game of golf. 

Scott has been playing competitive golf since the age of 13. His first amateur victory came at the 2002 Washington Metropolitan Golf Association Amateur Championship when he became the youngest golfer to win the event at the age of 19. He won his first professional event in 2007 when he captured the Middle Atlantic PGA Central Chapter Championship. In 2005 he qualified for the National PGA Assistant's Championship in Florida.
